Travel Diary: Puerto Rico Adventure Fiesta

Guess who just went to Puerto Rico to cheer on my niece Gabby at her volleyball tournament? Yep, that’s right – this girl! And let me tell you, it was a trip of a lifetime!

So, the gang – me, Georgette, Gabe, and Kem – decided to turn this tournament into a full-blown Puerto Rican adventure. And oh boy, did I fall head over heels in love with the island the moment I set foot there! Now, let me tell you, the moment I stepped foot on that island, it was like my stress evaporated into thin air. Coming from Haiti, it felt like I was living my best life without a single care in the world.

Now, I have to confess, my initial plan was just to be Gabby’s number one cheerleader, but who could resist the charm of Puerto Rico? It’s like the island waved its magic wand, and poof, I was enchanted!

Puerto Rico, with its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes, is truly a gem in the Caribbean. And let’s talk about those beaches, views, and nightlife – they’re like magnets pulling you into the Puerto Rican spell!

On our first day, we explored the historic wonders of old San Juan. The views were so breathtaking; I felt like I was in a movie! We even hired a tour guide who was basically a walking encyclopedia of Puerto Rican history. She took us to all the cool spots, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed forts. Talk about time-traveling in style!

And then came the main event at the convention center – watching Gabby slay on the volleyball court. She’s basically the LeBron James of volleyball, and we were there chanting, “Go Gabby!” like a bunch of crazed fans. She’s a total GOAT on the court! Go Gabby, you rockstar!

Next up, we celebrated Kem’s birthday with some delicious cuisine. I can’t remember the restaurant’s name (blame it on the excitement), but the food was top-notch, and the customer service? Impeccable!

And of course, we couldn’t miss a sunset stroll on the beach. Picture this: stunning beach, spectacular views, and water bluer than the sky. We had the time of our lives, and get this – we didn’t even swim! 😂

Now, the kiddos, being the daredevils they are, went zip lining the next day. Not my cup of tea, but hey, as long as they enjoyed themselves, right? (Mwen pitit Sylvana, I’m not risking it!)

Later that night, Gabby continued her domination on the court. It’s in her blood, after all. Puerto Rico, you’ve got yourself a Moise MVP!

Sure, we didn’t get to explore every nook and cranny of Puerto Rico, but mark my words – I can’t wait to go back!
